Norwich Free Academy, Slater Hall ADA Renovation
Location: Norwich, CT project completed Sept 2011
G.C.: G Schnip Construction Co.
Architect: Du Bose Associates, Inc.
This project earned a 2012 Build CT award from the
Associated General Contractors of CT
This Project consisted of Nora Rubber Flooring on four levels, including stair treads and risers that were fabricated on site. The beautiful red and white logo was precisely water jet cut and then installed by M F Higgins. The stone work had to be fabricated to custom sizes to fit the architect and owner's unique design. We worked directly with the architect to establish a stone layout to fit his vision of a space resembling "ruins that were left there."
Higgins overcame many obstacles on this project including excessive moisture in the concrete. Working closely with the architect and owner with very little time left before school opened, we developed a resolution to install a Moisture Mitigation System and then our 11,000 sf of rubber tile.
